Case Study:
Japan Marine United Uses XVL in Digital Manufacturing Initiative to Improve Manufacturing Processes
World's Second Largest Ship Builder needed a more intuitive and cost-effective way for its workers to understand complex assembly processes that could also accommodate extremely large models. Japan Marine United (JMU) is the 2nd largest shipbuilding company in the world, manufacturing a wide variety of vessels including supertankers, container ships, car ferries and military ships. JMU launched a Digital Manufacturing (DM) initiative centered around the development of a “Next Generation Manufacturing Assist System for Outfitting" (MAS) based on XVL from Lattice Technology. JMU chose XVL for its new MAS, providing XVL 3D visual work instructions to multiple JMU shipyards and significantly improving ROI.
